日本軍捕虜尋問報告戴号

　このアメリカ陸軍の公式文書は、１９４４年にビルマのミートキナにおいて米軍が捕虜にした韓国人慰安婦２０名と民間業者２名の尋問調書であるが、当時の慰安所、慰安婦の実態に関するもっとも重要な資料の一つといえる。
なぜなら、これはうわさ話、あるいは後になってから集めた情報ではなく、現地で慰安婦本人の尋問に基づいた情報であるからである。もちろん、日本軍に対して敵対的な感情を持っていた米兵の尋問であり、予断に基づいた解釈も含まれていることは当然予想される。しかし、基本的には実態を反映した内容であるとみることができる。
この報告書の最も大事なポイントは、「序文」のところで「慰安婦は売春婦にすぎない」という明確な性格付けをしていること、「給与と生活条件」のところで実収入が、月平均７５０円（上等兵は月１０円なのでその７５倍）という超高収入であったと記録されていることである。
つまり、米軍は慰安婦を超高収入を稼ぐ売春婦、という認識をしていたのであり、「性奴隷」などとは全く考えていなかったのである。
　慰安婦の真実を知るため、そして海外の人達に理解させるために、極めて貴重な資料である。英文の案内は下記の通り。

Japanese Prisoner of War Interrogation Report No. 49

This official US record made by direct interrogation of comfort women captured on the battlefield is one of the most important source materials related to documenting the real comfort women.
In 1944, the United States Army captured some Comfort Women in Burma and were interrogated by the U.S. Army. The Army filed “Report Number 49” and it stated that the ladies were well-paid prostitutes.
It clearly defined a “comfort girl” as nothing more than a prostitute or “professional camp follower.” (Preface) It also stated that their average month net pay was 750 Yen, which was 75 times higher than that of a private first class soldier’s pay of 10 Yen. (Pay and Living Condition)
These show that the comfort women were merely very highly paid prostitutes, and having absolutely nothing to do with “sexual slavery.”

私の記憶する大東亜会議、その意義
渡部昇一（上智大学名誉教授）

　昨年１１月６日、大東亜会議７０周年を記念する大会を開催し、そのあと大会での演説などを３回にわたり、紹介してきました。
　　・スルヤ・ボース氏演説（チャンドラ・ボースインド仮政府首班親族）
・加瀬英明氏の開会あいさつ「人種世界平等の出発点となった大東亜会議」
・ヘンリー・ストークス氏「日本はアジアの希望の光だった」
　引き続き、今回は渡部昇一教授の講演をご案内します。
　「東亜侵略百年の　野望ここに覆す」という歌を開戦の２か月前、小学校５年の時に教えられたそうです。大東亜戦争が東亜会報の戦争であったということは当時の人々にとって常識であったわけです。
　大東亜会議を企画したのは重光葵外務大臣でした。そのため東京裁判ではA級戦犯として裁かれ、禁固７年の刑を受けました。しかし、１９５６年に国連に加盟した時には外務大臣として国連総会に行き、日本が世界の架け橋になると言って、万雷の拍手を受けたそうです。そして日本に帰るとバッタリ倒れてなくなったそうです。すると、それを聞いた国連が黙とうささげたということです。
　つまり、もはや東京裁判のA級戦犯などというものはなくなっていたことをこのことは明白に示しているのですが、いまでの無知のためにA級戦犯を言いたてる人がいるのは残念なことと渡部教授は述べています。

Now we present Professor Watanabe’s address.
He still remembers a song taught before the start of the war with a phrase “We are going to crush their 100-year ambition to invade and control East Asia.” So, liberation of the Asian nations was a common thought among the people at that time, he says. He also remembers all seven member’s name who attended the conference representing Asian nations. They were not a puppet of Japan but independent minded with a determination to become a really independent country from Western colonization.

Mr. Henry Scott Stokes gives his candid observations on his vibrant life in Japan as the longest serving gaijin kisha, foreign correspondent, in Japan and attacks historical myths cited as facts and evidence of Japan’s past aggression. As one who has lived in Japan for over 50 years, Mr. Stokes has made acquaintances with the elite of Japanese society, including famed novelist and activist Yukio Mishima, the subject of Mr. Stokes’ biographic, The Life and Death of Yukio Mishima. Mr. Stokes was the only foreign correspondent who had ready access to Mishima, who spoke freely on matters important to Japan including her lost sense of “Japanese essence” and “Japanese uniqueness”. Underlying this loss is the total enthrallment of the Japanese people by a post-war view of history and an utterly alien world view fabricated and forced upon them by the West.

グレンデール碑文のウソと慰安婦問題
「史実を世界に発信する会」事務局長　茂木弘道

昨年カリフォルニアのグランデール市に慰安婦像設置計画が韓国系の団体によって提案され、日本人市民が立ち上り反対をしたにもかかわらず、慰安婦像は建てられてしまいました。この像に並ぶ碑文に書かれていることは、日本を貶める全く架空の話です。しかしこれが真実とみなされ、カリフォルニア在住日本人の子供が韓国系の人たちからいじめに会うという痛ましいことが起こっています。
いじめを受けているお子さんの両親から、このウソに反撃する資料を戴きたいとの依頼を受け、簡単な説明文に英文資料をつけてお送りしました。その説明文を若干詳しくし、大事な資料を載せた文章としたのが、この小文です。
朝日新聞が、8月5日号で、吉田清治の慰安婦強制連行説を載せた１６点の記事を取り消すという事件がありました。我々は前々から、吉田証言の虚偽を主張してきましたが、ここであらためてその確認を行い、吉田証言が否定されると慰安婦強制はもとより、慰安婦非難ということは全く成り立たないのだということをここで明らかにいたしました。

Lies Inscribed on the Glendale Monument and the Comfort Women Controversy

A “comfort woman” statute was established in Central Park Glendale, California, last year in spite of strong protest by Japanese residents in Glendale as well as in Japan.
As shown by this paper, statements inscribed on the monument are either entirely fabricated stories or lies. Moreover, these statements not only denigrate Japanese people but also serve to inflame the Korean people’s hatred against the Japanese. As expected, it has been reported that many Japanese children living in California are being bullied by Korean children.
One of those children’s parent requested that I refute the preposterous inscribed statements. I sent her a brief paper with various sources of information, which prove that the accusations related to “comfort women” are not based on facts.
Now that The Asahi Newspaper, in its August 5th issue, admitted its failure to verify Yoshida Seiji’s “comfort women” abduction story and announced that 16 Yoshida-related stories were to be retracted, I have written this paper, which expanded on the short paper I sent to the parent in Los Angeles.
When Yoshida’s story proved to be a total lie, the underlying charge that “comfort women” were “sex slaves,” the whole story completely collapsed. I’m convinced that you will agree with me when you read this paper.
