日系アメリカ人の対日観と歴史認識（対談）

先の戦争で、日本が仕掛け諸外国に甚大な迷惑をかけたので贖罪し続けなければならないという自虐史観（戦後史観）に自縛されている日本と同様に、米国でも、日系アメリカ人は日本軍が侵略したため米国はやむなく太平洋で戦ったと日本の自虐史観を裏返した歴史認識を持っている、と小島教授はいう。
日系アメリカ人のロナルド・シノモト氏の議論を通してこうした現状の問題点、どのように正さるべきかを検討していく誌上対談が本論文である。

小島教授は、また特に参照すべき二つの書籍として、チャールズ・ビアード（元米歴史学会会長）の『ルーズベルトの戦争責任』、フーバー元大統領の Freedom Betrayed（裏切られた自由）（フーバー研究所刊）を取り上げ、シノモト氏もそれによって大いに認識を改めさせられたことを認めている。
議論の中に登場してくる歴史上の人物の肖像画が見開きページに掲載されている。小島教授自作のもので、ユニークな試みであろう。

Japanese Americans’ View of Japan and Historical Awareness
Professor Kojima and Japanese American writer Shinomoto discuss Japanese Americans’ view of Japan and their historical awareness of Japan’s political and military actions, specifically in the days before and during WWII. Just like the Japanese who have endured self-flagellation by insisting that they were the aggressor in those days and therefore have continued to apologize and make amends for their alleged acts of aggression, Americans have a distorted view of history, in which they claim they had no choice but to fight Japan in the Pacific because they were attacked by an aggressive state.
The discussion leads to the conclusion that while it is necessary to liberate the Japanese from this distorted view of history, it is also important to correct Japanese Americans’ inaccurate historical knowledge of Japan’s actions before and during WWII.

韓国における「慰安婦」
加瀬英明（「史実を世界に発信する会」代表）

橋下大坂市長の「慰安婦」をめぐる発言が内外に大きな波紋を投げかけ、Sex　Slaveを肯定する発言であるかのような、海外紙の報道がなされている。いうまでもなく、慰安婦は官憲の強制などとは無縁であり、また当時の新聞広告に見るように、兵士の２０倍くらいの報酬が約束されていた。実際アメリカの捕虜尋問に基づく公文書には、月平均７５０円と兵士の７０倍、軍曹の３０倍近い収入を得ていたことがはっきり書かれている。こんなSex Slave がどこにいるのか、と日本政府は、韓国はもとより、アメリカ、そして世界に大々的に発信しなければならない。
　そもそも、韓国ではアメリカ軍をはじめとする国連軍兵士向けに「慰安婦」を政府が提供していたことは既によく知られている。この韓国における「慰安婦」について韓国の学者グループによる研究が、２年前に『軍隊と性暴力ー朝鮮半島の２０世紀』（宋玉連・金栄編著）（現代史料出版）として訳出刊行されている。加瀬会長は、この本で韓国軍慰安婦を「性奴隷」と論じていることから、では「ソウルの国会とアメリカ大使館前にも慰安婦像を設置することになるのだろうか、という皮肉でこのエッセイを結んでいる。

COMFORT WOMEN IN KOREA
Repercussions from remarks made by Osaka City Mayor Hashimoto Toru about the so-called “comfort women” have been felt throughout the world. However, Japanese authorities never abducted women. Nor did they force them to become comfort women against their will.
Every nation has been involved in and in charge of facilities enabling soldiers to satisfy their sexual needs without the risk of contracting venereal disease when those soldiers are engaged in combat on foreign soil. The Japanese military was no exception. During World War II, Japanese military authorities established brothels and contracted with local civilian Japanese and Korean brothel operators to recruit prostitutes.
Then, how about the situation in Korea after the WW II? The results of research on comfort women in South Korea, done by a group of Korean scholars, were published in book form two years ago under the title The Military and Sexual Violence.The book provides verification that United Nations Forces (US troops) and the South Korean government were both involved in and in charge of military prostitutes from the moment the Korean War erupted.
Mr. Kase further explains the situation in his essay based on this book and wonders if we can expect to see demonstrators erect statues of comfort women — this time in front of the Korean Parliament and the US Embassy.

SDHF Newsletter No.40: アメリカ人の「南京虐殺目撃証人」は一人もいなかった
平成２４年３月２日

　『Eyewitness to Massacre』（虐殺の目撃証人）という本がアメリカでＭ．Ｅ．シャープ社
から出ています。サブタイトルは「南京における日本軍の残虐行為の目撃証人のアメリカ人
宣教師」となっています。この本はエール大神学図書館に所蔵されている、南京にいた宣教師
１０人が家族や友人に送った手紙などの資料をまとめたものです。宣伝目的が希薄な本音の記録
と見ることができますので、もしここに日本軍の虐殺行為が具体的に記されていたとすると、
有力な虐殺証拠となってきます。

　しかし、案の定といいますか、よくよくこの記録を確かめて行くと、この手紙の中に只の１件
も虐殺を目撃したという事が出てこないのです。松村俊夫さんが検証し、その結果を文章にまと
めたものが、「アメリカ人の「南京虐殺目撃証人」は一人もいなかった」です。

　この論文の大要は『正論』２月号、３月号に「南京の平穏を証明するアメリカ人宣教師たちの
記録」と題して掲載されました。

　アメリカ人が決定的な南京虐殺資料と思いこんでいた資料が、実は南京虐殺はなかったことの
決定的な証拠となったわけです。河村名古屋市長が「南京戦はあったが、虐殺があったとは思え
ない」といわれているのは全く正しいことです。有力な応援資料となると思います。

No American Winessed the Nanjing “Massacre”

There is a book titled “Eyewitness to Massacre: American Missionaries Bear Witness
to Japanese Atrocities in Nanjing” published by M. E. Sharpe. It is a compilation
of personal letters written by ten Americans living in Nanjing after the fall of
Nanjing to relatives. However, the book is misleadingly titled.

Mr. Matsumura comprehensively examined the letters and concluded that none of the
Americans personally witnessed the Japanese murdering, raping or looting, even
as they freely traveled around the city. The book is true evidence that “no massacre”
was committed by Japanese troops in Nanjing, in sharp contrast to its title.

Mr. Matsumura’s essay presents this fact as follows.

　慰安婦問題は既に決着がついていたはずである。慰安婦強制連行などということは全くの虚構
であることが実証されたからである。しかし、河野談話では、広義の強制性があったかのような
表現で謝罪をした為に、国際的には慰安婦＝セックス・スレイブというイメージが定着してしま
ったのである。だからこそ、アメリカ議会で慰安婦非難決議が採択されることになってしまった
のである。これ自体はまさに歴史的な愚行なのだが、それが通ってしまった。

　韓国では、何と「女子挺身隊」＝「慰安婦」という１００％のウソが、国家の正式の見解と
なっている。とうとう慰安婦の像をソウルの日本大使館前に立てる団体が出てくる始末である。
これはよく考えてみれば、韓国人は情けない民族ですと世界に自分で宣伝しているに等しいの
であるが、こういう愚行に対して河野談話に呪縛されている日本政府は、まともな対応が出来
ないでいるのである。

　慰安婦の真実を、国内で、そして世界に向けて粘り強く発信していくことが必要である。
発信する会では、これまでにアメリカの議員、大使などに対して再三にわたり、抗議の書簡、資料
等を送ってきたが、今回これを読めばまともなアメリカ人なら誰でも、慰安婦＝セックス・スレイ
ブなどということは大ウソである、と認めざるを得ないという論文を英訳して４０００ほどの世界
中のＶＩＰに下記の通り発信した。また有力議員（外交委員会委員等）にはプリントを郵送する

The Truth about the “Comfort Women”

They argue that members of the Women’s Volunteer Labor Corps were forced to become
military prostitutes, which is total nonsense. They institute lawsuits. They demand
apologies. Every Wednesday they hold demonstrations. And now they have outdone
themselves by installing a statue of a young woman in front of the Japanese Embassy
in Seoul to symbolize Korean women whom they allege were coerced into sexual slavery
during World War II. Who are these Koreans, and why do they continue to indulge in
such shameless behavior?

The claim that members of the Women’s Volunteer Labor Corps were military
prostitutes is worse than misguided; it is an outright lie. The two have absolutely
no connection with each other.

The essay presents full evidence materilals including US official records that the
“comfort women” were nothing more than a prostitute or professional”camp follower.”

SDHF Newsletter No.38:アメリカを巻き込んだコミンテルンの東アジア赤化戦略

　１９９５年アメリカ国家安全保障局（ＮＳA)が公開した「ヴェノナ文書」（第２次大戦前後
の時期にアメリカ内のソ連のスパイたちがモスクワの諜報本部とやり取りした秘密通信の
傍受を解読した記録）の分析によって、ルーズベルト政権に大量のコミンテルン工作員が
存在していたことが明らかとなった。大統領側近のアルジャー・ヒス、大統領補佐官ラフリン・
カリー、財務省通貨調査部長ハリー・デクスター・ホワイトらがその代表的なもので、対中支援、
対日戦争を導く上で重要な役割を果たした。

　政府だけではなく、アメリカの反日援中組織はほとんどコミンテルン工作員、アメリカ共産
党の主導により、キリスト教組織、リベラル知識人を巻き込んで作られ、アメリカ世論を反日
親中の方向へと強力に向けて行ったことが判明している。

　主な組織は、「アメリカ中国人民友の会」（機関紙編集長フィリップ・ジャッフェ）、「太
平洋調査会」（事務総長エドワード・カーター）、「中国支援評議会」（常任理事フィリップ・
ジャッフェ）、「日本の中国侵略に加担しないアメリカ委員会」（発起人フィリップ・ジャッ
フェ、Ｔ．Ａ．ビッソン）などであるが、組織を実質的に動かしていた人物が（　）に示され
ているがいずれもコミンテルン工作員であることが確認されている。

　日中の紛争に際してアメリカの中国支援を拡大させ、終には日米戦にまで持って行った
大きな原動力となったのがコミンテルンの工作であったことを明らかにしているのが、

　　　　　How the US became entangled in the Comintern’s master plan　　　

With the opening of Russian archives in 1991 and release of intercepted and
decrypted messages transmitted from American spies to the USSR, the “Venona files,”
in 1995, the widespread infiltration of Soviet agents within the Administration
of Franklin D. Roosevet has been confirmed. Soviet influence in part explains the
dramatic shift from a noninterventionist nation to one that actively promotes the
interests of the Soviet Union.

Most anti-Japanese movements organized in America were intiated by Comintern-
influenced communists and their sympathizers invloving Christian societies and
liberal intellectuals. They supported Chiang Kai-shek and the Nationalist party’s
fight against Japan and demanded that the US government embargo the export of
critical materilas to Japan.

The US government further supported China by sending military pilots under the
guise of a voluntary corps (actually disguised army and navy pilots)
“Flying Tigers”. This project was the responsibility of Lauchlin Currie, special
assistant to the President, who has since been confirmed as a Comintern agent by
“Venona files.” This policy in turn lead to war between the US and Japan.
