尖閣問題が長引き深刻化しているのは日本政府が明々白々たる領有権を持つことを断固として主張してこなかったことにすべての原因があります。
中国の尖閣領有権の主張はあまりにも露骨なウソ話であるのにもかかわらず、それを断固として拒絶しないので、相手はいくらでもつけ上がってくるのは当然のことだからです。
昭和43年（1968）に国連アジア極東委員会が尖閣周辺の大陸棚に石油・天然ガスが埋蔵されている可能性がある、という報告を出すまで、中国は国定の地図で尖閣を日本領に入れていました。それを突如翻して、自国領だと言い出しても日本は断固拒否しないのだから、これはウソを押し通すべきだと考えるようになるのは無理もないでしょう。
日本領有根拠となる地図、そして中華民国領事の日本領有を認める「感謝状」など決定的な資料を載せた高花論文の英訳版を発信する会のサイトにはすでに1年前からのせていました。今回下記のとおり改めて世界の識者4千にemailで案内しました。

On September 7, a Chinese fishing boat was found violating Japanese
territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands. Japan Coast Guard patrol
boats announced warnings but the fishing boat not only ignored them but
also repeated dangerous actions and even collided in to the patrol boat.
The ship was detained and the captain was arrested.
Against this incident the government of the People’s Republic of China
issued a strong protest to the Japanese government. Their ground for
protest is that the Senkaku Islands are within their territory. But this is completely baseless. Until 1968, when the U.N. Asian Far East announced
the possibility of a treasure trove of oil and natural gas under the
continental shelf in that area, the PRC admitted the Islands were in the
territorial domination of Japan.
